This follow-up to director Peter Raymont’s multi-award-winning film, The World Is Watching, which documented the media circus in Managua, Nicaragua in 1988, during the Sandinista/Contra period, The World Stopped Watching follows two American journalists who return to Nicaragua to explore what happens to a country and a people when the media spotlight is turned off. They discovered a country struggling with desperate poverty and corruption, unreported by the international press.
